Pregnancy Calendar - Week26

This week your baby opens its eyes and can move their head back and forth. The baby’s hair may also have started to grow this week as will their toe nail. More weight will have been gained in the last seven days, along with the development of their brain tissue and nervous system.

You might be enjoying a severe bout of constipation by this stage. If you are speak to your Doctor rather than suffer in silence. Constipation is caused by higher levels of progesterone being produced by you, which relaxes your muscle tissue in your body, including the muscles in your GI tract, which slows down your digestion.

Although you might not feel like it at this stage, you should also maintain some form of exercise, such as swimming or walking.

You may also be experiencing something called Restless Leg Syndrome, or RLS, which is when women have restless or jittery legs during the second half of their pregnancy. RLS can be reduced by you cutting down on the caffeine and by doing some stretching of your legs
