Pregnancy Calendar – Week10
Week 10
The baby is now growing as fast as possible, it has almost doubled in size in the last three weeks. It will double again in the next three weeks. The baby’s major organs are still continuing to develop, including their digestive system, and it is this week that the baby might do their first poo.
Your chances of miscarriage are significantly reduced if the heartbeat can be detected, so its is at this stage your Doctor may check the baby’s heartbeat (145 to 165 beats per minute).
You may now be feeling slightly less nausea or having less moody swings. This is because your placenta has grown enough now to be managing the baby’s hormones for you. Don’t worry if you are still feeling nausea, everyone develops at a different pace, no one has the perfect average pregnancy, so your pregnancy is likely to vary from time to time.
