Birmingham have not just opened a nappy recycling plant, they have given permission for it to be built. It will be some time before it is up and running and will only collect from hospitals and nurseries. The 30,000 tonnes will also consist of incontinence pads from the old folks homes, so not so many nappies will actually be taken out of the equation.
