Pregnant teenagers face the same health issues as pregnant women in their 20s and 30s, however, they also face the additional social and economic difficulties of being pregnant while still being at school.

I was 17 when I first got pregnant and the symptoms were there within a few weeks. I was scarred to talk to my parents and embarrassed to go to my Doctor. Friends started giving me advice, and to get an abortion, which I didn’t want. I went and got a pregnancy test and then went to my Doctor for him to do a pregnancy test. I should have talked to your parents about being sexually active or not. My advice to anyone reading this is please don’t be afraid to talk to your parents. It doesn’t seem like they are cool, but when it comes to stuff like this you should get advise from them. They don’t want bad things to happen to you. Remember that they love you.
